PAD type heaters provide a simple and effective solution for maintaining operating conditions and helping ensure equipment is ready whenever it is needed

Many people associate industrial heating equipment with winter operation, but maintaining critical temperatures is important throughout the year.

Whether equipment is operating in remote locations, standing by for emergency use or handling fluids that are prone to thickening or gelling, temperature management plays an important role in reliability, efficiency and equipment protection.

From standby generators and vehicle fleets to industrial pumps and gearboxes, temperature management plays a vital role in protecting equipment, maintaining reliability and supporting efficient operation.

Protecting Lubricating Oils

Lubricating oil is essential for reducing friction and wear within engines and mechanical systems. When equipment remains inactive for extended periods, oil temperatures can fall below optimum levels, increasing resistance and affecting performance during start up.

PEREGRINE PAD type oil tank heaters provide an effective solution for maintaining oil temperature in a range of applications, including:

• Air cooled engines

• Engine lubricating oil systems

• Gearboxes

• Pumps

• Oil valves

• Static engine sumps

These heaters are particularly valuable where sump removal for the installation of an internal heater is impractical. Integral thermal cut out protection provides additional safety and reliability.

Maintaining Battery Performance

Reliable battery performance is critical for many industrial and standby applications. Battery pan heaters help maintain battery temperatures, ensuring batteries remain capable of delivering the power required when needed.

Available in a wide range of voltages and outputs, PEREGRINE battery pan heaters can be fitted individually or in multiples to suit the application. They incorporate an internal thermal cut out for safe operation and are typically controlled by a separate air thermostat.

Preventing Fluid Thickening and Gelling

Many oils and fluids can become more difficult to handle when temperatures fluctuate. PEREGRINE external PAD type tank and sump heaters provide a simple and effective way to maintain fluid temperatures where direct immersion heating is not possible.

Applications include: • Engine sumps • Small engines in trucks and vans • Gearboxes • Pumps • Valves • Tanks containing temperature sensitive fluids.

With outputs available up to 1000W, these heaters provide dependable protection against fluid thickening, gelling and other temperature related issues.

PAD Oil Tank Heaters

PEREGRINE lubricating oil PAD heaters are designed to maintain oil temperature and improve equipment reliability in a variety of applications.

These heaters are commonly used for:

• Heating air cooled engines

• Maintaining lubricating oil temperature in engines operating in low ambient conditions

• Heating gearboxes, pumps and oil valves

• Heating static engine sumps where removal of the sump for installation of an internal heater is not practical

By maintaining oil temperature, PAD heaters help ensure lubrication is readily available when equipment starts, reducing strain on components and supporting efficient operation.

For added safety, the heaters incorporate an integral thermal cut out set at 60°C or 90°C depending on the model.

Battery Pan Heaters

Battery performance can be significantly affected by low temperatures. In conditions below -10°C, batteries can lose capacity and struggle to provide the power required for reliable starting and operation.

PEREGRINE battery pan heaters are designed to maintain battery temperatures at an efficient operating level, helping to ensure dependable performance in cold environments.

Features include:

• Internal thermal cut out set at 40°C

• Suitable for installation in multiples depending on battery tray size

• Available in a wide range of voltages, including low voltage DC options

• Various wattage ratings available to suit application requirements

Battery pan heaters are typically controlled by a separate air thermostat mounted nearby, ensuring energy efficient operation.
