Preheat Engineering
In 1954, Norman Geen, Leslie Seviour and Robin Chronander merged their three businesses – Aviation and Engineering Projects Ltd, Technical Publications and Supplies Ltd, and Peregrine Service Stations Ltd to establish a fourth entity: Power Frequency Heating Ltd.
Under Leslie Seviour’s leadership and with collaboration from the designers at Aviation and Engineering Projects Ltd, they designed a range of engine preheaters branded ‘PEREGRINE’ , named after the trading estate the Company was then located on.
In 1984 and with director retirements prompting a change, Brian Taylor, who had been part of Power Frequency Heating Ltd since he was 16, acquired the company, launching Preheat Engineering alongside his partner Mark Harrision.
By 1986, the Company had relocated to premises in Hayes to allow for expansion and in 2015, as Brian and Mark sought retirement, the current Managing Director, Simon Gristwood acquired the business and relocated to larger premises in Langley, Berks. Today, Preheat Engineering is a leading supplier of engine preheaters and fuel storage heating solutions to generator manufacturers, maintenance and servicing companies operating in the Genset, Fire Safety, Fuel Storage and marine markets.
