History
In 1954, Norman Geen, Leslie Seviour and Robin Chronander decided to expand their businesses (Aviation and
engineering projects ltd, Technical publications and supplies ltd and Peregrine Service Stations Ltd) and created a
forth company Power Frequency Heating Ltd.
The registered offices were at Peregrine Works, 214 Lampton Road, Hounslow. This giving the name to the
PEREGRINE equipment manufactured by Power Frequency Heating Ltd. Leslie Seviour headed up the operation
and with help from the designers at Aviation and Engineering Projects Ltd created a range of engine heaters.
In 1984 due to Director retirements the businesses were sold and Brian Taylor who had worked at Power
Frequency Heating Ltd since the age of 16, bought the equipment and stock and started Preheat Engineering
with his partner Mark Harrision. In 1986 they moved premises to Unit 1, Adler Industrial Estate, Betam Road,
Hayes.
Brian and Mark employed Sandy and Nigel who together created and manufactured the heaters including many
bespoke designs for a range of industries and applications.
In 2015 Brian and Mark wanted to retire so sold the business to Simon Gristwood who bought the equipment
and stock and retained Sandy and Nigel and Started Preheat Engineering Ltd. Still selling PEREGRINE
equipment and continuing to make new designs for the generator, marine, fire pump and tank industries.
In 2018 Preheat Engineering Ltd manufactured the tank heaters for the Winter Olympics in South Korea, and in the
same year won Company of the Year at the AMPS award ceremony
