Background
Our Client designs, builds and services critical, multi-national infrastructure that requires an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and preventative maintenance to ensure vital applications can be continually maintained at optimum performance, without any unplanned downtime. Their client’s expect first time, every time.
The Challenge
To be sure of delivering an uninterrupted power supply, back-up generators must start quickly, every time, to maintain power as contracted.
A continuing issue, however, is that the pre-heating products supplied with many generators are just not consistently reliable enough. As our Client provides a range of generators, typically from 1,000, 1,500 to 2,000 watts, they also needed a full range of pre-heating products.
The Solution
Preheat’s Peregrine coolant pre-heater range ( http://preheat.co.uk/product-type/coolant-heaters/ ) is the preferred solution for our Client because they are also thermostatically controlled, and proven over-time to be very reliable, robust and long lasting.
Our Client therefore replaces every OEM supplied heating solution with the appropriate Peregrine pre-heater designed to support each new generator’s wattage.
Being controlled by a thermostat means our coolant pre-heater products keep engines to a prescribed level of warmth in any environment, irrespective of any ambient temperature fluctuations, so that batteries are not drained by low temperatures – and engines start every time when required.
The design of Peregrine coolant pre-heaters also allows space for relatively large heating elements, thereby reducing the element watts-density and surface temperature, and prolonging heater life.
Results
Reliability. ‘Once we have fitted a Preheat Peregrine product the job is done. We don’t have to worry.’
“Preheat’s Peregrine products are robust and long lasting. They are like comparing a Land Rover compared to a Ford Focus. Once we have fitted a Peregrine pre-heater it’s there for the next five years and more. It’s a good solid piece of kit. We are great fans of Peregrine.”
