Introduction
Our Client is large storage tank manufacturer for transportation, powergen, oil & gas and nuclear industries.
The Challenge
Their customer required a reliable back up power solution to ensure service could be continually maintained in the event of a mains power outage. The diesel fuel tanks the customer had specified as requiring a solution, were 33,000 and 45,000 litres, both of which would be exposed to potentially severe cold weather conditions in winter.
The challenge was to ensure that the diesel fuel could be continually maintained at optimum consistency, so that the back-up generators would start immediately. Without a connected heating solution, extremely cold temperatures could quickly turn diesel to sludge in the event of a power cut.
The Solution
For our Client, building large fuel tanks to cope with such extreme conditions was unusual. So, it was their customer that specified Preheat’s Peregrine preheaters as part of the programme of works, because they had used Peregrine products previously with very positive results.
The solution installed was a Peregrine P974/7TT28CG top entry tank heater with integral thermostat and flanges (click here to view our Fuel Oil Tank Heater Range) that met the specifications without any customisation which made the whole process very straightforward.
The Result
Our Client and their customer remain very pleased with Preheat’s customer service and the Peregrine product’s reliability.
“Preheat were bang-on with every delivery. You were very easy to work with. We would gladly use you again!”
